One app. Zero waste. Thousands saved.
Here’s how I transformed Eagle Survey’s daily operations
Survey Pro: Project Management Platform for Land Surveys

Project Overview
Company: Eagle Survey
Timeline: 6 months
Role: Lead UX Designer
Project Goal
Eagle Survey relied on five disconnected tools to manage projects, quotes, and communication. This created slow workflows, inconsistent data, and unnecessary software costs. My goal was to unify everything into one platform that matched how surveyors actually work.
The Problem
-
Scattered tools (Survey Stars, Excel, NearMap, QuickBooks, Email, Google Maps)
-
Tedious manual steps causing delays and errors
-
No single source of truth
-
High software spend with low ROI
What I Delivered
-
A unified project management platform built around real surveyor workflows
-
A redesigned quoting process flow that's faster, clearer and more accurate
-
A reusable component library and UI style guide
-
Documentation for engineering and cross-team alignment
Impact
-
Thousands saved by replacing multiple paid tools with one platform
- Faster quoting with fewer steps and less cognitive load
-
Improved accuracy through better logic, clearer UI, and automated calculations
-
Better communication across PMs, front‑office staff and field workers
-
Higher confidence in daily operations and future scalability
1. Research and Define Stage
My Process
-
Interviewed PMs and front‑office staff
-
Mapped end-to-end workflows
-
Identified pain points and automation opportunities

Key Insights
-
CEO wanted to eliminate wasted software spend
-
PMs needed to reduce time spent on tedious tasks
-
The team wanted automation and clearer workflows
2. Evaluate Existing Tools (Ideation Stage)
I analyzed Survey Stars, the Excel quote calculator, and Nearmap to understand what to keep, remove, or redesign.

-
Kept: Near Maps useful map features, core survey data and core quote calculator logic
-
Removed: Unused content and redundant steps
-
Redesigned: Quoting process flow, calculator, site navigation and workflow structure
3. Redesign the Infrastructure (Ideation Stage)
-
Created a new site map and workflow architecture
-
Built low-fidelity flows to validate structure
-
Ensured the system felt familiar but significantly more efficient.
-
Aligned with stakeholder and end-users to ensure my proposed solutions aligned with expectations

4. Prototype, Test, Iterate Cycle
UI Variations
-
Explored light/dark UI variations
-
Built a custom component library using Shadcn and established a style guide
-
Validated designs and workflows with clickable prototypes using MagicPattern and Figma Make
-
Refined designs and workflows according to user testing feedback

Custom Built UI Organisms

Top Iterations
-
Restructured quote calculator layout for instant clarity
-
Fixed status automation to match real behavior
-
Added breadcrumbs for faster navigation
-
Improved tooltip clarity
-
Expanded reminder coverage
-
Corrected KPI formulas
-
Added minimization functionality to email modal to prevent quote data blockage
Final Outcome
Survey Pro became the single platform Eagle Survey uses to manage jobs, payments, quotes, communication, and mapping — all in one place. The redesigned quoting workflow alone significantly reduced time, errors, and frustration.

Dashboard for quick access recent quotes and performance KPI's

Allows users to mark new geographical project territory and see pre-existing jobs.

Displays all of the configurable settings within the app, such as theme, permissions, reminders, etc.

Project Conclusion
Survey Pro transformed a complex, fragmented surveying process into a streamlined, dependable workflow that saves time, reduces costs, and supports future growth. The team now works faster, with fewer tools, fewer errors, and far more confidence.
Next Steps
Redesign the mobile app experience for field workers to simplify task completion and asset check-in/outs.
What I Learned
This project strengthened my ability to quickly understand specialized industries and translate complex workflows into simple, actionable interfaces.
